The Flying Tigers generally refer to the American Volunteer Group (AVG) of the Chinese Air Force. It was created by American flight instructor Claire Lee Chennault. Initially, its primary operational area was in Yunnan, China, and later focused on Zijiang Airport in Xiangxi, Hunan.
