Background

1920-40s Motorcycle Club Racer Jersey, featuring the distinctive two-tone color scheme that was prevalent among riders of that era. This design was popularized in the vintage motorcycle club culture.

The inspiration for the sewn-on letters on the front can be traced back to the "Hollister Riot" of 1947. Initially, it was a festive Gypsy Tour motorcycle gathering, but fueled by alcohol, riders engaged in reckless riding and brawls. The instigators were believed to be members of the "Booze Fighters" club. In response, the American Motorcycle Association (AMA) stated that 99% of motorcyclists were law-abiding citizens, with only 1% being troublemakers. This declaration unintentionally gave rise to a rebellious subculture, as individuals proudly identified themselves as part of that 1%. The inspiration for the movie "THE WILD ONE" also draws from this rebellious spirit.

JERSEY 1910s-1930s
In the 1910s the jersey was a monochromatic combed wool jersey with a V-neck, high collar and button-down placket. In the late 1920s two-tone jerseys were worn with tweed or leather breeches, leather headgear and sunglasses, and lace-up high leather boots, which had become the standard by the 1920s. 1920s.

TURTLENECK SWEATER 1939-1950s
The zipper began to be widely used in the civilian market in the 1930s, and the new style "Turtle Neck Sweater" was first published in the catalog in 1939. When the zipper was fully closed, it could be used as a turtleneck, and when it was opened, it could be used as a lapel on both sides of the collarbone, and with the black and white color clash, it became a standard item for riders under the manufacturer's banner. The black-and-white color scheme made it the standard for the manufacturer's riders, and it remained popular for more than 10 years before disappearing from the catalog in the mid- to late 1950s due to the emergence of sweatshirts made of nylon.
